As Vice President of Brand Strategy & Insights, Charles Africa, or Chuck, is our head strategist and insights guy. He is responsible for using his strong marketing background to understand and evaluate each brand’s value propositions and competitive dynamics when developing brand extension strategy recommendations for clients. He is also instrumental in conducting royalty trend assessments and brand impression metrics valuation for clients.
Previously, Chuck gained his marketing experience, specifically in CPG and B-to-B brand management and brand strategy. As a former Brand Development and Category Mix manager for Unilever Food Solutions, he traveled extensively across various countries in Southeast Asia to co-create market development strategies for local Unilever teams. While at Unilever he also launched multiple product extensions for the Knorr brand in new markets across Southeast Asia. Charles attained extensive experience with new product development, advertising and marketing promotions in various snack food categories as a former brand manager for URC (Universal Robina Corporation) in the Philippines.
Chuck Africa completed his Masters of Science in Integrated Marketing degree, Marketing Analytics concentration at New York University (NYU). He is also a graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University Loyola Schools in the Philippines, with a degree of B.S. in Management Engineering. Chuck loves to perform improv comedy, and would like everyone to try at least one class in their lifetime. He is also a succulent plant enthusiast.
